Data Deletion Policy
You maintain 100% ownership over your personal and financial records. This policy outlines what happens when you delete your Budgt account, what data is permanently removed, and how to submit a deletion request.
1. What Account Deletion Means
Deleting your Budgt account is a permanent action that removes your identity and financial records from our active databases. Account deletion is distinct from signing out or uninstalling the app:
Signing Out or Uninstalling
Leaves your account and encrypted data intact in cloud databases for when you next sign in.
Account Deletion
Permanently purges your identity, authentication credentials, and all financial data from our systems.
2. What Data Is Permanently Deleted
When you delete your account, Budgt permanently purges all of the following data:
Display name, avatar image, email association, and account preferences.
Every income, expense, transfer, and balance adjustment record created.
Every configured wallet space and its complete historical balance data.
Every custom and default budget category assigned to your account.
Every monthly spending cap and threshold alert configuration.
Every savings goal, including its full contribution and withdrawal audit trail.
Every automated recurring income or bill schedule configured.
In-app currency, dark/light theme, and local notification preferences.
Cloud Firestore user records and Firebase Authentication identity.
On your mobile or desktop device, account deletion also purges all local offline snapshot caches and automatically signs out your active session.
3. Deletion Is Irreversible
Account deletion cannot be undone. Once deletion completes, there is no way for you or Budgt support engineers to restore your account or recover lost transactions. We strongly advise exporting your financial records (CSV or PDF) before initiating account deletion.
Routine Disaster Recovery Backups
Budgt infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform / Firebase) maintains automated, short-lived disaster recovery backups to safeguard against system-wide infrastructure failures. Deleted account data may persist within encrypted backups for a limited period until purged during standard Google Cloud backup rotation schedules. Backups are never accessed to restore individual deleted accounts.
4. How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your Budgt account using either of the following methods:
In-App Automated Deletion
Log into the Budgt Mobile App or Web App and navigate to:
- Review the detailed summary of data scheduled for deletion.
- Re-enter your password (or re-confirm via Google Sign-In) to verify your identity.
- Confirm deletion. Your account and all remote records will be deleted immediately.
Manual Deletion Support Request
If you have lost access to your sign-in method or cannot log into the app, submit a manual account deletion request below.
